Abstract

HIGHLIGHTS

Key Activities

• Withdrawal of all health partners from Zamzam Camp, North Darfur, due to insecurity; rapid response planned for newly displaced in Tawila.

• Health Cluster contributed to HCT’s Essential Humanitarian Package.

• Joint PAMIs workshop identified high-risk areas for cholera and epidemic diseases.

• MoH and WHO provided laptops and smartphones to enhance HeRAMS datacollection and reporting.

Strategic Priorities

• Strengthening subnational coordination and partner engagement.

• Initiating rainy season preparedness in Central Zone.

• Critical funding gaps: only 6% of 2025 health sector requirements funded.

• Non-reporting partners risk exclusion from pooled funding and donor support.

Zones' Coordination Highlights

• East Zone: Cholera response active; 15 MHTs deployed; CARE selected as co-coordinator.

• Central Zone: Outbreak response gaps in Al-Jazeera; SCI shortlisted for co-coordinator; IMO recruitment in progress.

• West Zone: Tawila Response Plan developed; SHF pending; RI in place as co-coordinator.

Additional Context

• Over 40,000 injuries reported amid ongoing conflict.

• Health Cluster funding stands at 20.8 % as of May 2025.
