Launch of a New Interactive Sudan Crisis Regional Map

The Sudan Crisis Regional Map is a first-of-its-kind, multi-stakeholder data integration tool that delivers a comprehensive view of the Sudan crisis across eight countries. It brings together a wide range of spatial data within a single interactive platform, enabling users to visualize and customize data in real time to identify needs, assess vulnerabilities, and target interventions. It is designed to strengthen evidence-based action to support displaced and returnee populations and communities hosting them.

Publicly available on the Development Action Platform, the Regional Map:

• Covers eight countries: the Central African Republic, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda.
• Integrates multiple types of spatial data, including population movements, security, infrastructure, services, land cover, climate hazards, energy, among others. 
• Consolidates data across partners and data providers: Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED), Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), European Commission Joint Research Centre, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), International Organization for Migration (IOM), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), OpenStreetMap (OSM), UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), World Food Programme (WFP), and WorldPop.
