Chad Government Officially Recognizes 53 Schools Established in Refugee Sites

In July 2025, a Decree from the Chadian Ministry of National Education and Civic Promotion officially recognized 53 newly established schools in refugee-hosting sites, located in Ouaddai, Wadi Fira, Sila, and Ennedi Est provinces in Eastern Chad. These schools, which adhere to the national Chadian curriculum, are inclusive by design—welcoming both refugee and host community students. Graduates from these institutions will receive officially accredited qualifications issued by the Chadian Ministry of Education, ensuring their credentials are fully recognized across the country. This formal recognition marks a significant milestone in advancing the national agenda for inclusive education and represents a concrete step toward integrating refugee children into the national education system.
