Why a Development Action Platform?
The Development Action Platform seeks to be the “go to place” for development partners in responding to the Sudan Regional Crisis, in line with the principles of the Global Compact on Refugees and the 50by35 Vision to enable refugees in long-term displacement to move beyond aid dependency through greater self-reliance and pathways to solutions by 2035. Building on consultations with the Development Partners Group on the Sudan Regional Refugee Crisis, the platform is co-designed by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), and the United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) and seeks to be a multi-stakeholder effort to respond to the critical need for data, evidence, and analysis to mobilize support from humanitarian, development, and peace actors for people displaced by conflict in Sudan, and the affected communities in Sudan and in neighbouring countries of asylum and return.
The Platform is collaborative and a work-in-progress, and welcomes feedback and inputs from partners.
Objectives
